Work in Progress |
A journey of training and hopefully transforming! After taking up running mid 2011, I fell in love with it and hope to share my passion with others! When I started I couldn't run a bath! But now I can say I have completed several races including the Great North Run and have signed up for many more in 2012. |
Today was another new circuit and my god it was tough! Full body drills are a killer - starting from standing jump down into a press up position floor sprint for 8, then moving press ups, then in and out abs and back up! We had to repeat this a couple of times - I could only manage bits and pieces before having to lie on the floor, but if I think of day 1 I doubt I would have even been able to manage a full set of 1 drill. The other exercises were just as tough but I managed without completely dying!
Tonight will be my chance to see how this is working alongside my running as we are doing a 5km ‘race’ as part of the winter grand prix and with it being down the quayside I think it’ll be pretty flat - trying to push for under 30mins.
Tomorrow is a 6am start so I’m getting prepared now incase I’m too tired after harriers (prepration is key) and we are having a ‘party’ afternoon at work with lots of buffet food so I’m taking stuff I can eat and I must try to resist any ‘bad’ foods! The diet has been going pretty well and I haven’t had any pasta, rice or potatoes - I have had the odd bit of bread and the odd biccy too - it is Christmas after all!
I must add that I feel fantastic and I’ve got quite a lot of energy - so much so that people call me ‘hyper’.
3 days to go …
