Work in Progress |
A journey of training and hopefully transforming! After taking up running mid 2011, I fell in love with it and hope to share my passion with others! When I started I couldn't run a bath! But now I can say I have completed several races including the Great North Run and have signed up for many more in 2012. |
The title is a little misleading I am not here to solve every runners problem so I’ll get that clear from the start! This post is about the fantastic service I received at Sweatshop today and the things I found out about my lovely feet that keep me running. The main reason for going to sweatshop was to get my badass leggins for all the races coming up next year so that I won’t be missed (because I’ll be a blur obviously) but I was brave and asked the lady who worked there about my gait and if I was running right. I put on some neutral trainers with my tights - very snazzy and got on the treadmill to see what type of runner I was. I currently run in quite high support shoes as when I first started running I was told I needed them as I overpronate but when watching myself back today I’m now completely neutral!!

Badass leggins!
So luckily enough I have some neutral trainers and after chatting to the lovely people at sweatshop they’ve advised I can start running in them straight away and hopefully all my injury problems will be solved (or very nearly solved). Running in support when I’m neutral could be why I’ve been having lots of pain recently which is such a releif - this week has been driving me crazy with the knee problems. Just shows the importance of having a gait analysis done and getting the right kit that you need!
So tomorrow I start my new journey with my new Garmin (awesome Christmas present) and my new trainers!
