Work in Progress |
A journey of training and hopefully transforming! After taking up running mid 2011, I fell in love with it and hope to share my passion with others! When I started I couldn't run a bath! But now I can say I have completed several races including the Great North Run and have signed up for many more in 2012. |
Last night I returned to harriers and it felt great! I can’t sell the benefits of running with a good running club enough, I love running with Tyne Bridge Harriers as they are so supportive and push me where I wouldn’t if I was running on my own. The session last night was 4x4 minutes and for the 4 minutes I pushed myself to run a bit faster than I would normally. I haven’t uploaded my garmin so unsure of pace etc but I could definately feel it. We did 5.02 miles in total and I was knackered so lots of work to do for my first half marathon of 2012 in March.
I’ve devised a training schedule to take me up to the Northumberland Half and my main aim is to just get round without stopping - I keep telling myself I’m not bothered about the time but I still hope to get under 2:30 which if I keep running with Tyne Bridge and doing my cross training and strengthening I should get there. From what I’ve been told it’s a hilly course so need to do some hill training. I really want to head out tonight and do a few hill reps but don’t want to push my knee too much so haven’t decided!
I will be back at harriers tomorrow for another session and will keep going twice a week and adding my own run in on a Saturday or Sunday. I felt great after last nights session even though I struggled a bit and found it really hard! Feels great to be running again and I can’t wait for what 2012 will bring!
