A journey of training and hopefully transforming! After taking up running mid 2011, I fell in love with it and hope to share my passion with others! When I started I couldn't run a bath! But now I can say I have completed several races including the Great North Run and have signed up for many more in 2012. |
After a full week off the exercise wagon and healthy eating wagon due to a back injury an not being able to move without pain I decided to give the gym a go this morning to test things out. I turned up about half 10 after a breakfast of porridge and an attempt to be healthy and got on the treadmill or dreadmill as I like to refer to it. After a warm up for 2 mins I pushed the speed up to 10kmph and ran for 20 minutes, during the 20mins I increased the speed every now and again to see how things felt. Managed 2.5miles (roughly) in 20mins so very happy with that! I then took my red face into a spinning class. I love spinning!! The dark room, the loud music and the burn you feel in your legs just feels fantastic! So I also did a 45min spin class on top of my run :) Had a nice stretch and a hot shower afterwards and I felt great! Not much pain anywhere, the odd niggle but I expected that. I’m at physio tomorrow so will get a proper check over and see if there is a problem. Tomorrow I start a 3 week trial where I am going to eat ‘clean’ along with my exercise routine. I think the first couple of days will be hard since I’ve just been eating what I’ve wanted lately but I really need to do something to shift this weight! I’d really like to lose another 21lbs and I am aiming for 7lbs in the next 3 weeks! I hope that by following this plan I will be able to make habits for the rest of my life rather than something short term and putting the weight back on in a couple of weeks! I’ve taken photos, weighed and measured myself and plan to update my blog daily with progress to keep me going :)
